Collection: Jette Sørensen

Jette Sørensen is a graduate from the Aarhus School of Art. Jette is focused on challenging the aesthetic in crafts and creating sophisticated functional and non-functional objects. In her products, one can read the potter and craft tradition that she stands on the shoulders of.

She grew up on a rich clay soil in Vendsyssel and carries the memories of the clay's tactility with her. She finds inspiration, among other things, in our shared cultural heritage, and Jette loves to look back at our pottery and craft traditions and create expressions that reach into the present. She is fascinated by good craftsmanship. The cups, jugs, teapots, and layer cakes are made from Danish earthenware clay that has been excavated in Jutland.

Jette lives south of Aarhus and has a studio in Malling. She teaches ceramics at the Aarhus School of Art.
