Collection: Han Nguyen

The playfulness of slipware and the craft and effortlessness of traditional country pottery has informed Han Nguyen's language within ceramics. She has a fascination with historical pottery and the natural marks of the potter, created through process and forever fired onto ceramics.

At the same time she also has a desire to explore domestic ware as a canvas to create objects in between art and function. Her imagery is inspired by typical earthenware decoration, often natural gestures born out of tools, process and technique.

Han has a background in the game industry where she used to be a game designer. During a career break she discovered clay and since then the temporary break became a permanent change. She graduated from Clay College in Stoke-on-Trent in 2021, where the English pottery traditions have made a clear impression on her practice. She hopes her work will be playful additions in people's everyday life.

She also runs 14kvm and has her workshop in the back of gallery.
