Ler grund
Earthenware has long been the common material for the Danish potters through its wide availability in the Danish soil. Through this, an expression and language has been created that is unmistakably EARTHENWARE. There is comfort and recognizability in this, but on the other hand also a certain stagnation in it, making a genre and a way of working that is seemingly stuck in a tradition of the past.
Ler grund is a group of five studio ceramicists with a common interest in earthenware. The craft, traditions and cultural heritage that exists within the field of earthenware. Ler grund seeks to reinvigorate Danish earthenware through their individual practices and display a contemporary take on the genre. A tradition that deserves a rennaissance in the Danish ceramics scene. Through their shared interests, they wish to show the potential and craft that is unique to earthenware and the versatility within the material.
